I have seen some beautiful miniature kitchens on FB recently which has inspired me to post some of mine. I like the Downton one (the biggest one) which one do you like?

Tanya Harvey is sending me more photos as she works on my latest commission. This is for a deep red and Ivory room, I don’t think she has ever made two curtains the same.

Thought I would prove a point that I make about knowing clever people. I commission Tanya Harvey (from Tanya’s Little Curtains) to make the curtains and sometimes bedding for the houses I’m working on for clients. She has paint and wallpaper samples to work from. Have a look at these for my latest commission…

Just for fun, I’m posting as I work on my current commission. It’s more to see how long it takes me. Worked on a French themed room today, remember this is not my house, it’s customer choice, I only do the work. Ok, the mirror is just me messing about..

I’m working with The Dolls House Magazine at the moment doing an article over a few issues where I will show my own house. This is one I use for my buisness to show clients what I do, it has lots of room styles and periods to try and show my versatility In design. I want to promote it, not for me, but to showcase the talented artisans who contributed to it.
The articles will list them all.

Next room to do in my current house commission, games room, prep work started. It’s going to be deep red and Ivory with billiard table lights.

What a difference a colour makes..

Back from the paint shop, my friend Barbara gave me some very good advice once, ” a sharp contrast is better than a poor match” she was spot on. I will not compromise on colour match this is the ripped out chimney breast with the new paint swatch..
You can see I have painted the chimney breast several times already, the dark blue in the photo is still wrong.

When things don’t go right… Before and not quite after…
I only had 3 sheets of paper for this room, and can’t get any more without running the risk of a bad colour match so I have to do a plain colour chimney breast. I had painted it three colours by this stage already, put it in and photographed it.
I have taken it out again since, off to the paint shop again…

Thought I would post an update on my current commission. I have a before and after, my client had a good go at the house herself and did one room, but gave it to me to re do for her. see what you think. Lights are not on yet as I do them last.
