Update on my latest commission. They are not my houses, I just design the rooms according to my clients wishes. I have restrictions like room size and budgets. I think if this were mine I would put in a fireplace and put the design in a taller room. Still, I’m quite pleased with its progress so far, lighting still to do.
I’m after help today. I need opinions as to whether I need window dressings or not. I can either put a mirror behind this large hall window or use these beautiful drapes made by Tanya Harvey from Tanya’s little Curtains. A mirror behind the window is used by the Ritz hotel in London for effect, so it’s not my idea, but it does work. Shall I or shan’t I?
A helpful comment I had was to put something in a room photo to show the scale (I never thought of that) so here is what’s left of a box of sweets….hallway still in progress.
Help, dear friends, I have come to value your opinions. Whether Europe or the States you have all got such a vast collective knowledge of dolls houses, I would like to know what you think. I am about to put on the market one of my houses. It’s one I have used to demonstrate what I do as part of my business ‘ Dolls House Grand Designs’ as an interior decorator of dolls houses, These are some of the pics of the house. What I need help with is what I should sell it for? It will go with most of the furniture as it was custom made for the house.
Finally getting around to finishing a hallway on one of the biggest houses I have ever worked on, luckily my own house made by Ted Wright. Influence of Robert Adam in design, but kept quite plain and simple.
My latest commission ‘the Strand’ is now well underway. The clients chose a lot of mouldings for this opulent dining room. The light hangs down low as it will be over the table and the electrics are yet to be switched on.
Thought I would show the beginnings of a new project. The Strand by Dolls House Direct (Gary White). This is a work in progress, kitchen, basement hall, pantry and wine cellar. All decor chosen specifically by my client who knows exactly what he wants. As you can see, I have lots still to do.
