Further to my below post, you can find Debra Jacksons’s beautiful miniatures on Etsy, meantime I gave in to temptation and bought one! I am nearly finished My French themed room, I have hand painted some furniture to match the decor, my Debra Jackson piece fits in really well. Can you see it?
In this hobby if you want to call it that (although as I do it for a living its more a way of life at the moment) I really do meet not only really nice people but incredibly talented ones. I don’t think they really know how clever they are, if I tried to do what they do, all I would make is a mess. Look at this amazing piece by Debra Jackson. You can find her on Etsy and Facebook.
Housekeepers office, linen store and sewing room. Well she can’t sew in her own room, it’s been invaded by cats….
Maids closet, top floor squeezed into a small space. I love these small areas that you can cram with disorganised bits and bobs,
Housekeepers room… OK in reality she wouldn’t really have cats lounging on her bed, but sometimes you can’t take it too seriously can you… I put a pot bellied stove in there, so she can at least make herself tea.
Night nursery, I used the same colours as the day nursery (which is next door) to bring the two rooms together, even though the papers are different. I hope that works….
Something fun, not so much about the design, but a room more about what’s in it.
Changed some of this room as part of the inspiration was Marie Antonette’s bedroom. It really needed the trompe l’oeil panel in the ceiling to finish it.
Another room, same house. I’m still tinkering with this one as I have the en-suite and dressing room to light. I also need to talk to my good friend Tanya from Tanya’s Little Curtains who will do the curtains for this one.
Lighting up a project this week. It’s the last thing we do when a house is nearing completion. This is where we add more lights is necessary and change bits if need be. I always think this is where the house comes to life as it were. What do you think? The house is so big, I will put on one room at a time.
