Finished a couple of rooms this week, the billiard room and the China room. Thought I would post so you could have a look.

It’s taken me ages to complete, but I only get to work on this at night when I finish working on other people’s houses. This hallway design has been in my head for ages, nice to see it in real life, even though it is in miniature.

I take inspiration from real houses to design rooms, it is usually a mixture of more than one real room. Here are two real hallways I liked and the resulting design in miniature starting to develop.

The ‘priory’ is now finished, this house has been extensively rebuilt. I don’t think there is an internal wall left I haven’t replaced. Lights still to go on. Can you see the little servant door in the hallway? I wanted to keep the external true to the kit as it was a gift to my client, but I have embellished, made it look a little more like a real house and only replaced the central pediment decoration.

I had a house in for resale, sometimes it does happen when a client moves for example, big houses just don’t fit through cottage doors! This one was re sold within 24 hours. I personally loved the Thorne Rooms inspired hallway, which took an age to do.
